Most of our senior moves are into retirement communities, assisted living, or smaller homes near family. We have moved into most of the major communities around the Triangle and we know how the loading docks, COI requirements, and move-in windows work.

Downsizing With Kindness

Going from a four-bedroom family home to a one-bedroom in a retirement community is a lot of decisions in not very much time. We bring patience and we work at the pace the family sets. We can hold items for a yard sale, drop donations at local charities, or handle junk removal for the things that are not making the trip.

If pieces are being distributed to children and grandchildren in different cities, we can coordinate multiple drop-offs in a single move.

Retirement Community Coordination

We send certificates of insurance to the community ahead of time, reserve the loading dock or freight elevator, and arrive within the community's move-in window so nobody is rushing.

On move-in day we unpack the boxes the family wants unpacked first - the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom - so the new home feels lived-in by dinner instead of three days later.

Working With Family at a Distance

Often the adult child managing the move is in Charlotte, DC, or out of state. We can run the whole job from a video walk-through, send daily photo updates, and meet the family on-site only for the parts they want to be there for.
